The Pistons improved to 2-0 on the season with a nice win over the Washington Wizards
. The Pistons were up by ten at the end of the first quarter but they let the Wizards back in with an eleven point deficit in the second quarter. Still, the Pistons took care of business in the second half and walked away with a 117-109 win.
Rip Hamiliton led the way with 24 points but he was nine for 21 from the field. Rasheed Wallace was seven for nine with seventeen and he had a team high twelve boards. Walter Herrmann once again contributed off the bench and he rained in 16, including a trio of three pointers.
The Pistons simply owned the glass. They had almost as many offensive rebounds (16) as the Wizards had in total (24) and the Pistons actually doubled them up with 49 total. Jason Maxiell had seven boards as did Herrmann while Rodney Stuckey pitched in with eleven points.
Next up are the Charlotte Bobcats, who are 1-1 on the season so far. As it stands, the Pistons are now just the only team in the Central with an undefeated record.
