This was definitely a tale of two halfs. The Pistons got off to a horrible start against the Knicks yesterday afternoon and while they did mount a second half comeback, they still fell well short of picking up the win. A 29-12 first quarter in favor of the Knicks turned into an insurmountable deficit despite the Pistons outscoring the Knicks by twelve in the second half.
Tayshaun Prince led the way for the Pistons in the loss with 23 points and ten boards. Allen Iverson scored seventeen and had seven assists. Arron Afflalo led the way for the Pistons off the bench with seventeen points.
The Cavs are in the middle of another big winning streak and the Pistons now trail them by 5 1/2 games. In fact if the playoffs started today (we’re closing in on the 1/4 point of the season), the Pistons would be tied for the fifth seed with the Nets. Next up are the Bullets Wizards tomorrow.
