The Pistons took care of business last night against the Washington Wizards as the Pistons took their third straight game. At the end of the first, it was a two point game but the Pistons broke out in the second quarter, gave most of that lead back in the third, then dominated in the fourth quarter to take the game 88-74.

Next up are a solid Jazz team in at the Palace. It’d be nice if the Cavs would lose more then a game here and there because despite the Pistons mini-run, they’re still six games back.
Talk about a weird game. The Pistons shot .514 from the field and had a 24/11 assist to turnover ratio. Anyway, as well as they played on the offensive side of the court, they still lost 107-94 to the Washington Wizards and that was after having a 15 point lead at the end of the first quarter.

The Pistons didn’t get much off the bench in this and what they did, they got from McDyess. He scored nine and had six rebounds. Outside of those nine points, the Pistons got just six points from the rest of their reserves.
Next up are the last place Pacers on Friday. The Pistons have now dropped three in a row and they’re flirting with the .500 mark. A win (as well as a few Cavs losses) would be nice.
This was definitely a tale of two halfs. The Pistons got off to a horrible start against the Knicks yesterday afternoon and while they did mount a second half comeback, they still fell well short of picking up the win. A 29-12 first quarter in favor of the Knicks turned into an insurmountable deficit despite the Pistons outscoring the Knicks by twelve in the second half.

Rodney Stuckey led the Pistons off the bench. He scored ten and he dished a team high seven assists. The Pistons did a solid job on the defensive side of the court and they held the Spurs to under 40% shooting and their fourteen steals was an impressive total.
The win puts the Pistons three games back of the first place Cavs. The Pistons get a well deserved break and they take on the 76ers on Saturday at the Palace.
Talk about getting over a hump. For the second straight time, the Pistons were smoked by the Boston Celtics. The game was tied after the first quarter but from that point on, it was pretty much all Boston en route to a 98-80 loss.
Allen Iverson led the way with 16 but it was on 5 for 13 shooting. Rasheed had thirteen and six boards while Rip Hamilton scored twelve. The Pistons had just 17 assists but 16 turnovers so that about sums up your game right there.
Jason Maxiell had a nice game off the bench. He actually played more minutes then Kwame Brown and Rasheed Wallace (who got into foul trouble) and he scored ten with six rebounds.
The loss puts the Pistons a full game back of the first place Cavs. The Pistons now get a few days off and they take on the Timberwolves at the Palace on Sunday.
The Pistons may not be in first place, but last night’s win over the first place Cavs was a big one. The Pistons overcame an eleven point deficit to roll over the Cavs and now the Pistons sit just one win back of the Cavs.
Rasheed Wallace had a big game. He scored 21 and grabbed 15 rebounds. Allen Iverson pitched in with 21 while Rip Hamilton scored fifteen.

Maybe the Pistons just ran out of gas. They shot just under 40% in an ugly 104-86 loss to the Phoenix Suns. This was a fifteen point game at half time and whle the Pistons played better in the second half, they were never able to bridge the gap.
Rip Hamilton had his second solid outing in his last three games. He also picked up five rebounds and two assists. Rasheed Wallace had a team high nine rebounds and he scored eleven.
Rodney Stuckey led things from the bench. He scored twelve, which was more by any Piston outside of Rip. Jason Maxiell grabbed seven rebounds (five off the offensive glass) in just over 10 minutes.

Roger & Me release The Island on dvd Things didn’t look all that great in the first quarter and they were outscored 31-19. A solid second quarter put the Pistons and Kings tied heading into halftime. A 25-15 fourth quarter was what got it done though as the Pistons locked down in the final frame.
Tayshaun Prince had a big game as well. He scored 26 and grabbed 11 rebounds. Arron Affialo led the way off the bench and he scored six to go with four assists.

The win left the Pistons a half game back of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Next up is game two in the west coast trip as the Pistons take on Golden State tomorrow.
That 4-0 start is pretty much in the past at this point. The Pistons lost to the Boston Celtics 88-76 in an ugly game. The Pistons shot just .347 from the field and when you turn the ball over more times then you have assists (16 to 14), you know you’re in for a long night (or in this case, early afternoon).

Richard Hamilton had a particularly tough game. He went 0 for 7 from the field and he knocked home just three free throws all game. Tayshaun Prince led the way with 23 and the next highest scorer was Will Bynum of all people with eleven. Rasheed Wallace had ten points and eleven rebounds while Allen Iverson had ten points to go with a team high four assists.
The Pistons get just one day of rest before they kick off a four game West Coast swing against the Sacramento Kings. Fortunately, the Kings aren’t playing well so hopefully the Pistons can get going with a win.
RoboCop dvdrip Welcome to the Pistons Allen Iverson. Iverson did lead the way with 24 points. He was six for twelve from the field and eleven of thirteen from the line. He also matched Rodney Stuckey with a team high six assists. Richard Hamilton scored 22 and Tayshaun Prince scored nineteen, but he shot just four of fifteen from the field. Tayshaun did pitch in with a team high eleven rebounds.
Stuckey was the top man off the bench. He scored nine, had six assists and picked up two steals. Walter Herrmann was just one of five from the field but four of those attempts were from behind the arc. Arron Afflalo scored four in just over seven minutes on the court.
Next up is a big one. Not only do the Pistons stop off at the Palace tomorrow before they kick off a four game west coast trip, but they have the unenviable task of taking on the defending champions, the Boston Celtics. Gametime is six pm for this one.
Nowhere to Run the movie The Pistons were without Allen Iverson again last night. Looks like Chauncey Billup’s physical still hadn’t been finalized at tip off, so the team had to sit the super star guard. Still, it was nice to see the team come through again without one of their starters because they took care of the once unbeaten Toronto Raptors 100-93.
Tayshaun Prince came up big in this one. He was 10 of 13 from the field and he rained home 27 points. Rip Hamilton had 22 to go with a team high five assists and while Rasheed Wallace scored just eleven, he brought home twelve rebounds. Give some props to Rodney Stuckey, who got the start last night. He scored twelve and he matched Rip with five assists.
Return to House on Haunted Hill movie download Jason Maxiell was the top man off the bench. He scored six and grabbed five rebounds. Will Bynum had four points to go along with two assists.
Once again, the Pistons did an outstanding job of keeping control of the ball. They topped the 20 assist mark again with 21 and they turn the ball over just five times.
Hercules video The Pistons are 4-0 and next up are the New Jersey Nets tomorrow. You have to think Iverson will be in there so it’ll be cool seeing him in a Pistons uniform for the first time.
The deal is in the books. The Pistons traded Chauncey Billups and Antonio McDyess to the Denver Nuggets Army of Darkness the movie
for Allen Iverson. With the deal, the Pistons have to move up a notch or two in Vegas and for a lot of reasons, you have to like this deal. First off, Iverson is a definite upgrade Billups. I’m a Chauncey fan like the next guy but you’re talking about one of the best guards to suit over the past several years. And even if McDyess doesn’t find his way back to the Pistons, it’ll free up some minutes for Jason Maxiell.
Saving Silverman Rodney Stuckey is the obvious loser right now because he’ll probably see a reduction in his minutes. And if you believe what you read here, Iverson is simply a placeholder for Lebron James.
Murder in the First movie Sweeney Todd rip Rip Hamilton led the Pistons in their blowout 101-83 win tonight over the Charlotte Bobcats. He scored 19 and led the team with five assists. Kwame Brown led the team with nine rebounds off the bench and Will Bynum pitched in a big way with twelve points, including ten in the fourth period. As a team, 23 assists to go with just eight turnovers is going to do it every time. five different Pistons had at least three assists.
At the end of the day, the Pistons have Iverson and a 3-0 record. Next up is a tough Toronto Raptors team on Wednesday. Rip Hamilton has to be happy because lost in all of the trade talk is the fact that Rip signed a three year extension worth an undisclosed amount.

There’s some rumors floating around over at WDFN that the Pistons are trading Antonio McDyess and Chauncy Billups for Allen Iverson. This would be pretty huge and once it’s finalized (and I have some time to think about it), I’ll post some thoughts.
I didn’t look too far ahead in the schedule, but when I saw this headline, I knew the Pistons were going to be tested sooner rather then later. Seven of their next eight games are on the road and their lone home game is against none other then the defending champions, the Boston Celtics
. You also have one of the Pistons west coast swings where they play four games in six nights including one against the defending Western Conference champions, the Los Angeles Lakers.
So something tells me the Pistons undefeated mantra will go bye bye. Hopefully that is later rather then sooner but at the end of these next eight games, we should get a good indication what the Pistons should look like for the rest of the year. The good news, five of the next six games after this eight game stretch are at home so that should help the Pistons get their legs back.
Tomorrow kicks off the 1988-89 Pistons diary. The concept is simple and has been done before, just not for basketball, at least as far as I’m aware. You’ll get to follow the Bad Boys team, game by game, throughout the season until the team captures their first ever NBA championship.

The Pistons improved to 2-0 on the season with a nice win over the Washington Wizards
. The Pistons were up by ten at the end of the first quarter but they let the Wizards back in with an eleven point deficit in the second quarter. Still, the Pistons took care of business in the second half and walked away with a 117-109 win.
Rip Hamiliton led the way with 24 points but he was nine for 21 from the field. Rasheed Wallace was seven for nine with seventeen and he had a team high twelve boards. Walter Herrmann once again contributed off the bench and he rained in 16, including a trio of three pointers.
The Pistons simply owned the glass. They had almost as many offensive rebounds (16) as the Wizards had in total (24) and the Pistons actually doubled them up with 49 total. Jason Maxiell had seven boards as did Herrmann while Rodney Stuckey pitched in with eleven points.
Next up are the Charlotte Bobcats, who are 1-1 on the season so far. As it stands, the Pistons are now just the only team in the Central with an undefeated record.
A Love Song for Bobby Long divx
So much for testing the waters. The Pistons signed Jason Maxiell to a four year contract extension which will cost the team $20 million. Maxiell had his breakout season last year and while it seems like Maxiell is a late bloomer, this is definitely a guy who can contribute. And at $5 million per year, I have a feeling this signing is going to look like a bargain two years from now, especially is Maxiell is a bonafide starter.
He got off to a nice start in the Pistons opener. He scored seven, hit all three of his free throws, had four rebounds (three on the offensive glass) and blocked a shot in eighteen minutes of play.
The Pistons kicked some you know what last night as they helped head coach Michael Curry pick up his first NBA win. The home team outscored the Indiana Pacers in every quarter except the fourth and some of their team numbers were particularly impressive. I have fond memories of the Chuck Daly Pistons and one of his tenants was that if you were picking up 20 assists, that more times then not, you were going to win. This game was a case in a point with the Pistons having 23 assists (versus just 14 turnovers). I can live with that ratio.
Tayshaun Prince led the way with nineteen points and while the team leader in rebounds (Rasheed Wallace) had just seven boards, seven different Pistons had at least four boards. Throw in the fact that fourteen of the 41 rebounds were on the offensive glass and you come up with yet another reason why the Pistons got it done last night.
Rodney Stuckey had a nice night off the bench and he scored eight, had three rebounds and pitched in with four assists. Walter Herrmann joined Chancey Billups, Rip Hamilton and Prince as players who put up double figures in points during the game.
Next up are the Washington Wizards on Saturday. They dropped their season opener to the New Jersey Nets last night.
Last year, my attempts at keeping up here at Pistonsblog fell pretty flat. Now it’s time for a fresh start, with some new features so be especially sure to check back next week because I’m going to take you back in time to when the Pistons ruled the earth.
